Why stop there? The lining of this bag is Ecoprene-fabric made from recycled plastic water bottles. (We know, right?!) This material is very soft, but also very durable, so will withstand the daily-rummages.
Because as we all know, plastic lasts for ever.
We also work with great people and businesses who intercept and stop materials (like our vinyls) from the fate of landfill. We take our time find the best materials, then put them through rigorous testing. Those that pass, are produced into a final product. The most exciting part of using 'dead stock' is that our products cannot be mass-produced, making them special and unique.
Pinatex is a sustainable alternative to leather and other environmentally harmful non-leather alternatives. It is however just as strong, durable, flexible, and more lightweight and breathable than many other materials.
Pinatex is an innovative material formed through the process of stripping pineapple leaves into fine fibres through. This process is refered to as decortication.
These fibres are converted into a 'mesh' like material and then go through a manufacturing process to create what you see.
The pineapple leaves used are a waste product of an existing worldwide industry, and require no additional land, water, fertilizers or pesticides. As such, the production of the leaves has virtually no environmental impact.
Just like any other material (but better obviously) our materials need some love and care as well. Below are a few tips and tricks on keeping your new Ahimsa Collective item looking as chic A.F. as the first day it wrapped itself around your arm.
We love and stand by each and every design and purpose of our products BUT we do also understand that your style over the years might change or your need for a smaller/bigger/different product might arise.
Adhering to the no waste ethos from end-to-end, we offer a Recycling option here at Ahimsa Collective. If your current item doesn't suit your needs anymore, simply send it back to us to recycle and walk away with 10% off a new item that's as right for you as Goldielocks porridge.
